The two-day trainings focused on building strength within our Union through member-to-member organizing and worksite representation.
“These trainings are the foundation of our exceptional stewards program,” said Secretary-Treasurer Jason Rabinowitz. “Our leaders are an inspiration and have the knowledge and drive to build our power as a Union and create a better UC.”
Attendees learned the important role of Union stewards from protecting the rights of our workers with on-site representation to building member power through organizing.
"The training was very encouraging and insightful," said UCSF Patient Coordinator Brandon Jones.
"I wouldn't change a think about the training," said Facilities Mechanic Bert Vandenberg. "It was very informative and I enjoyed the role playing exercises."
“The energy in the room was invigorating,” said Local 2010 President Catherine Cobb. “Our members were creative and engaged throughout each activity.”
Our new Stewards are ready to take on any issue. Whether a disciplinary meeting, bully boss, or simply a question, talk to your Union steward or Union Representative. We also encourage anyone who is ready to make a difference to come to a Union meeting and become a full-voting member of the Teamsters. Together, we will create a better UC.
