Local 2010 Secretary Treasurer Jason Rabinowitz Appointed IBT Public Service Director

It is with great pleasure we announce that our very own Secretary-Treasurer Jason Rabinowitz has been appointed as Director of the Teamsters Public Services Division by General President Jim Hoffa.

“Teamsters Local 2010 has set the pace for the nation on organizing and building member power in the public sector,” said Jason. “It is an honor to have our work recognized by the International Union. I look forward to building on our successes on a national scale, to improve the lives of hundreds of thousands of working people.”

As other Teamsters division directors, Jason will continue his role as the Secretary-Treasurer and principal office of Teamsters Local 2010.

“Teamsters Local 2010 is where my home and my heart is, and I look forward to continuing to build our Local into a powerhouse for workers’ rights in California,” said Jason.

Since being elected Secretary-Treasurer in 2014, Jason has led Local 2010 to become one of the fastest growing and most dynamic Locals in the Teamsters, increasing our membership from 29% to 80% for the first time in our Union’s history, and organizing thousands of new workers into the Teamsters.

Through our strength in numbers, we have won millions in back-pay for our members, saved hundreds of jobs from layoff, mobilized tens of thousands across the state, and won strong contracts with guaranteed raises.

The Public Service Division is the second largest division within the Teamsters, representing over 200,000 members in every field and classification.
Congratulations to Jason and our entire membership whose work continues to change the lives of workers throughout California.
