Dozens of Skilled Trades Stewards packed our Bellflower office for a Southern California Health and Safety Training hosted by Teamsters Local 2010. The intensive three-day training consisted of lectures, modules, and hands-on activities on everything from promoting safety in the workplace to creating an action plan to win better working conditions.

“A strong Teamster workplace is a safe workplace because our stewards and members make sure that management maintains high safety standards,” said Jason Rabinowitz, Secretary-Treasurer. “Our Local 2010 Safety Steward trainings ensure that our stewards know our rights and how to enforce them.”
Our Stewards are now certified Worker Occupational Safety and Health Specialists ready to lead their workplace in preventing injuries, promoting safety solutions, and serving as health and safety resources to their colleagues and employers.
Thank you to all of our leaders for coming out and ensuring safety is a priority in their workplace.
We would also like to thank the instructors from the Worker Occupational Safety and Health Training and Education Program (WOSHTEP), which is a statewide initiative aimed at reducing occupational injuries, illnesses and workers’ compensation costs in California workplaces, for taking the time to educate our members on these critical issues. WOSHTEP’s purpose is to promote injury and illness prevention through trainings like this one and we appreciate them working with our Union to help make our campuses and workplaces safer.
