LBNL Raises Reopener 2019: Tentative Agreement Reached!

We are pleased to announce that our Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory bargaining team has reached a tentative agreement on raises for our CX-Unit LBNL Teamsters. Our team came to bargaining May 30 prepared with data and arguments demonstrating that wages for our LBNL Teamsters had not kept up with the high and growing cost of living in the Bay Area and that our members were not properly compensated for their skills and critical work that allows the Lab to function day-to-day.

Our team was successful in moving management off their initial proposal of only 2 years of raises for the duration of the CX-Unit contract and secured a tentative agreement that would provide guaranteed across the board raises for the next 2 years as well as a reopener to bargain for further raises in 2021.

WAGES – LAWRENCE BERKELEY NATIONAL LABORATORY

  • Guaranteed 3% raises effective October 1, 2019 and October 1, 2020.
  • No “merit” pool – raises guaranteed to all CX-Unit LBNL employees.
  • Reopener on raises for October 2021 to ensure fairness and equity

“I’m proud of our LBNL bargaining team and all of our members who stood together to win this tentative agreement,” said Jason Rabinowitz, Teamsters Local 2010 Secretary-Treasurer.

The ratification vote for the tentative agreement will take place June 24-28 at the Lab, with specific times and locations in that window to be announced. In order to vote on the agreement, you must be a member of our Union.  Join your Union sisters and brothers in making our union stronger and sign up for membership here.

Going forward, our Union will continue to fight for fair wages and treatment at LBNL.
