Teamster Lobbying Helps Advance AB 369 Through Critical Vote!

Teamsters Chief Steward and Bargaining Team member at Sacramento State Matt Mason spoke in front of the California Senate Education Committee June 12 on behalf of fellow California State University skilled tradesworkers in support of AB 369, a bill that would restore salary steps for the CSU workers. Co-sponsored by Teamsters Local 2010 and CSUEU, the legislation would bring back step-raises after an absence of more than 20 years.

Mason’s testimony followed Local 2010’s Lobby Day during which more than 50 Teamsters 2010 members from throughout California talked with legislators and their staff at the State Capitol.

Following his testimony, the Senate Education Committee voted 5-1 in favor of advancing AB 369! This near-unanimous, bipartisan vote speaks to the impact we have as Teamsters when we stand together and make our voices heard, whether it’s in the workplace or at the Capitol.
