The deadline for equity adjustment presentations to be submitted and orally presented has changed. Information for equity adjustment requests are now due to the UC by Oct. 11 and the 20-minute presentations will be made to the committee and employer on Oct. 18.
The UC also informed us that retroactive payments and across-the-board raises have also been delayed due to an unspecified glitch, and will now be reflected in Sept. 28 paychecks. Members will still receive the retroactive payments and across-the-board raises to July 1, 2022. If you believe your retroactive payment reflected in the upcoming Sept. 28 paycheck is not correct, contact our Union Representative.
Specifics on Equity Reviews
As a reminder, our new Teamsters contract with UCLA sets up an Equity Review Committee that will review specific job classifications identified by either Teamsters or UCLA management that may require market-based wage increases. These increases would be in addition to the wage raises already detailed in Article 45 of our collective bargaining agreement.
Management will decide which classifications, if any, will receive an equity increase. The first of two Equity Review Committee meetings is now scheduled for October 18 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Presentations will be limited to 20 minutes for each classification.
If you believe wages for your job classification are below-market and should be increased, please contact John Viera, Union Representative. You are responsible for putting together an inequity presentation for your classification, selecting a presenter, and presenting to the committee on Oct. 18.
