The CSU Trustees couldn’t ignore our demands for fair pay any longer May 23. Nearly 300 CSU workers, including 75 Teamsters, showed up for a four-hour “Summer of Solidarity” rally outside of the Trustees’ monthly meeting in Long Beach with a clear message: if the CSU doesn’t STEP UP, we’re prepared to STRIKE OUT!
While members of our Teamsters Bargaining Team, Secretary-Treasurer Jason Rabinowitz, and Skilled Trades Director Drew Scott made their comments before the Board, Teamsters and our fellow Unions showed our strength outside. Together with our sister unions CFA, CSUEU, UAPD, UAW Local 4123, and APC, as well as dozens of student workers currently fighting to organize with CSUEU, we chanted, drummed and cheered loud enough to be heard during every public comment!
"It’s time for the CSU to get real and get serious with us at the bargaining table. Together with our fellow Unions, we are showing the CSU worker strength and unity like they have never seen before. Our power comes from 60,000 workers standing together across the CSU system, and we won't be ignored!"
Jason Rabinowitz, Secretary-Treasurer
