Patient Relations Professionals join Teamsters Local 2010!

As a result of a decision issued by the State Public Employment Relations Board (PERB), all workers in the titles of Patient Relations Professional 2, 3, and 4 (4595, 4594, 4593) are now covered by the CX Bargaining Unit and represented by Teamsters Local 2010. Supervisory or confidential workers as defined by PERB are excluded from this ruling.

Please join us for a Town Hall via Zoom at 12 Noon on Friday, Sept. 1, 2023, where we would like to welcome you to the Teamsters. You are now united with more than 17,000 administrative, paraprofessional, allied support and skilled trades workers who provide critical public services at every University of California and California State University campus, medical center and laboratory throughout the state, as well as 1.2 million Teamsters members in the U.S. and Canada. Public services is one of the largest Teamsters divisions, ensuring that you and your colleagues have a voice in the workplace.

Register for the Town Hall here >>

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing the link to join the webinar.

We also have the right to bargain wage ranges, initial salary step placement, leave accrual conversions, shift differential pay, and title and pay advancement for Level 1 training positions. We will soon send out a bargaining survey to gain your feedback with negotiations scheduled to begin on September 7, 2023.

Only Union members can participate in the negotiations process, including bargaining surveys, serving on the bargaining team, and voting on Union contracts.  All newly represented workers are encouraged to stand with our Union and sign a membership application today to send a message to the UC that we are in this together.

Become a member now by clicking here.

We are only as strong as our members and when we bargain, we need to show the UC that we are united and will do what it takes to get the best agreement possible. Unions are funded solely by members and do not receive money from outside interests or corporations. Member dues are necessary to fund critical items such as expert representatives, attorneys, negotiators and more. The dues rate is 1.44% of your base earnings and dues will not be deducted until we ratify the new wage scales and step placement for your title. You will see that the Union difference of increased earnings in your paycheck will far outweigh the cost of dues.

If you cannot make it to the meeting, please contact your Union Representative for next steps.
