Celebrating Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Dear Teamster Sister and Brothers,

Today Teamsters Local 2010 honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. On this national holiday we celebrate the convictions, determination, teachings, and the life of one of America’s greatest civil rights leaders. Dr. King fought valiantly for peace and justice with a commitment to nonviolence and dedication to equality and opportunity for all Americans. He was vocal about union power, saying, “The labor movement did not diminish the strength of the nation but enlarged it. Those who attack labor forget these simple truths, but history remembers them.”

Dr. King knew the struggles of the working class and the inalienable rights of American workers to form unions to fight for better working conditions. Teamsters Local 2010 continues to take up the fight for the working class during these challenging times, bargaining for good wages, strong benefits, and respect in the workplace for our members. We are committed to a just economy, fair treatment, and dignity for every one of our members.

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” – Martin Luther King
