UCI Teamsters Secure Tentative Agreement – Including Pay Raises Averaging 18.5% Over 3 Years!

Our UCI Skilled Trades Bargaining Team is proud to announce that we have secured a Tentative Agreement (TA) for a successor Teamsters contract for UCI Skilled Trades workers. The Tentative Agreement contains significant and unprecedented raises to address increases in the cost of living, while making our pay competitive to comparable trades work done at other campuses and public employers. Our team was able to secure this agreement due to members standing together and taking repeated action to show the University that our essential work deserves fair pay.

Highlights of the Tentative Agreement include:

  • 18.5% in average raises compounded over a 3-year agreement
  • 6.5% increase in July 2024 plus additional equity increases of .5% to 2.5% for most classifications
  • Weekend shift differential pay added at rate of $1.50 per hour
  • Shift and asbestos pay differentials increased by $2.50/hour swing shift, $3.00/hour graveyard and $3.00/hour asbestos
  • Overtime for time worked in excess of regularly scheduled shift in a day in addition to existing overtime after 40 hours worked in a week
  • On-call assignment pay increased to 5 hours for weekends and holidays
  • Stronger cap on parking rate increases
  • No takeaways or concessions

“Congratulations to our Teamsters Local 2010 Skilled Trades members at UCI for winning this historic Tentative Agreement with unprecedented gains on wages and other important rights. Thanks to our great Bargaining Team and all members who stood together and took action to show the University that we are united and ready to do whatever it takes to win the fair contract we deserve!”
