The UC has a real scare in store for employees as open enrollment begins today, October 31.
Beginning January 1, 2025, the University of California plans to dramatically increase healthcare costs by 9-11% for UC workers across the state. The UC also plans to increase copays by up to 50% on critical, everyday services like office visits and pharmacy orders, and to institute monthly premiums on CORE, the only UC health plan that didn’t require premium payments! While Teamsters 2010 has successfully negotiated caps on healthcare costs for many of our represented workers, this change will have a major impact on certain Teamsters members.
Sign your name to help us show the UC that they can’t keep passing on massive healthcare costs to hard-working employees. These hikes represent a huge burden to the hundreds of thousands of employees who keep the UC running, and Teamsters Local 2010 and the UC Union Coalition is fighting back!

“UC workers are fed up with the university gouging us with increased medical costs, especially when they are not transparent and exclude us from decision-making around our own health plan. Teamsters 2010 will fight these egregious increases tooth and nail!”
Jason Rabinowitz
Secretary-Treasurer, Teamsters Local 2010
UC’s proposed hikes are disproportional, unethical, and completely unnecessary. Rates already jumped in 2024 and workers can’t take two years of healthcare price gouging. Add your name to help us fight back against the UC’s healthcare hike and protect workers’ hard-earned wages!
