Beginning Monday, March 24, every member of Teamsters Local 2010 will have the chance to vote on an important bylaws amendment for our Union. This amendment will help us grow as a Union and fight even harder for the 23,000 workers of Local 2010 and our Executive Board unanimously recommends a YES vote!
On March 24, digital ballots will be sent to every member’s email address on file by UniLect Election Services, a trusted union election provider that has been used by local and national unions across the country. Members will have until Monday, April 7 at 5:00 PM to cast their votes.
Ballots will be sent from the email address invitations@mail.electionbuddy.com from the sender “Teamsters Local 2010 Bylaws Vote”. We encourage all members to add the mail.electionbuddy.com address to their safe senders list before March 24. If, by March 25, you have not received your ballot and cannot find any email from invitations@mail.electionbuddy.com in your inbox, please call UniLect at 866-466-6455.
What are the proposed bylaws amendments?
- Strengthen our Union by incorporating AALA into our bylaws.
- Ensure representation for every member by creating the AALA Executive Board Division and the Administrative Workers Division, in addition to our existing Skilled Trades Division. Leaders of each of the three divisions will hold advisory positions on the Local 2010 Executive Board.
- Protect our strongest weapon in our fight for fair contracts by making permanent the Local 2010 strike fund and enshrining it in our Union bylaws!
- Other changes that will ensure the efficient management of our Union.
The text of the amendments will also be linked from the ballot so that all members can review the proposed changes at any time.
