Celebrating Administrative Professionals Day!

Today, Teamsters Local 2010 celebrates Administrative Professionals Day, highlighting all of the administrative and clerical workers who keep their workplaces running every day of the week.

Originally created as National Secretaries Day in 1952, Administrative Professionals Day is traditionally a day to receive cards and flowers from managers. While we all appreciate cards and gifts, we know what serves us the most on Admin Professionals Day and every workday: a powerful Union and a strong Union contract! When our upcoming Teamsters contract negotiations begin, let’s all commit to stand together for the wages and benefits we deserve!

“Being a member of the Teamsters has inspired me and my colleagues to do more meaningful work, to be more productive, and, above all, our Union membership has been our guiding light in our service to others. Thank you Teamsters for having our back so we can have the freedom to shine for others and leave a positive imprint on those we serve!”

Patient Relations Professional 2 at UC San Diego

The 18,000+ clerical and administrative Teamsters of the University of California keep every classroom, lab, and hospital in the UC running. We support students, patients, faculty, doctors, and administrators. Without US there’s NO UC!

And we definitely deserve more than just one day per year of recognition. That’s why we made sure to win one of the best contracts in the history of our Union in 2022, with guaranteed across-the-board raises, top-notch benefits, ratification bonuses, top-out bonuses, and more, for every CX Unit Teamster. There’s no better reward than a Union-strong paycheck!

“Happy administrative professionals day to the 18,000 Teamsters administrative workers whose hard work makes University of California work! Thanks for all you do to serve the students, patients, faculty, and our state. Thanks also for standing together to make Local 2010 one of the fastest growing and strongest unions around. As we gear up for contract negotiations later this year, today we pledge to continue to build our power to win the fair pay, benefits and rights at work that we deserve!”

“To all our dedicated Administrative Professionals, your tireless effort and hard work do not go unnoticed. You accomplish the impossible. You take on work which is challenging, with attention to detail, and do it extremely well. My sincere thanks and gratitude for all that you do for the UC and our Union. Happy Administrative Professionals Day!”
