Teamsters Fight for Higher Ed Funding is Working!
The California State budget May Revise released May 14 increases funding over what was proposed in January for the University of California and California State University. This means that our lobbying and fighting together as Teamsters and along with other UC and CSU Unions for full funding for education is making a difference!
The proposed cuts for UC and CSU have been reduced from 7.95% to 3%, but the revised budget still defers the promised 5% increases to fund wage increases for workers to the 2027-2028 budget year.

“Thanks to the hundreds of Teamsters who joined lobby day, signed petitions and wrote letters! We made big progress in the May revision of the budget but we must keep up the fight to ensure that California fully funds higher education to protect our jobs and our state’s future!”
Jason Rabinowitz
Teamsters Local 2010 Secretary-Treasurer
