CX Unit & Skilled Trades
Roughly 12,000 administrative support workers at the University of California joined with the Teamsters in the year 2010, thus forming what is now Teamsters Local 2010. Just past on our 10-year anniversary as Teamsters, we have many victories under our collective belt. We’ve won strong contracts with significant guaranteed raises and benefits, defended hundreds of workers jobs and rights at work, won thousands upon thousands of dollars in back pay and bonuses for members denied the pay or work they deserved, and aggressively protected our right to engage together in our Union and fight for our rights at work!

Unit 6 Skilled Trades
Teamsters Local 2010 represents more than 2,400 Skilled Trades workers at California State University and the University of California. We are electricians, elevator mechanics, plumbers, carpenters, locksmiths, facilities workers and other trades workers who keep the school safe and running smoothly for staff and students. The Skilled Trades Division elects its own Board of Directors and has dedicated Union Representatives led by the Skilled Trades Director.

International Workers’ Day, or May Day as it’s more commonly known, is a day to celebrate workers, Unions and labor movement victories like the weekend, overtime pay, job protections, collective bargaining, pension benefits, and protections against injury on the job. May 1 was chosen to celebrate workers in memory of the Haymarket Massacre in Chicago in 1886, and the Union leaders who gave their lives in the fight for the eight-hour workday.
Teamsters Local 2010 has demanded to bargain with CSU and UC regarding their COVID-19 vaccine policies for Fall 2021, in order to ensure that workers’ rights and interests are protected.
