DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nJoin Local 2010 at our Bellflower office for Union Steward training! Intro classes will take place on 7/9 with advanced training on 7/10.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThursday: Introduction to Union Stewardship\nIn this workshop, you will learn the fundamentals of being a Union Steward. From the duty of fair representation to your rights as a Union Representative, we will give you the foundation needed to become a leader in your worksite and protect the rights of you and your coworkers. A certificate will be awarded upon completion.\nFriday: Advanced Representation & Organizing\nExplore the more intricate part of being a Union Steward during the second day of training. You will learn the tools needed to advocate for your colleagues, such as interpreting contract language and filing grievances. Using real case-studies, you will learn the ins and outs of Union organizing and representation. Certificate will be awarded upon completion.\n**Training is open to members at our Southern California campuses.  Please contact your Union Representative if you have any questions. \n***Union Representatives will assist you in obtaining the days off of work to attend the event. \n\n\n\n\n
