Mail-in voting has begun for the March 5 primary election and our rights as workers are on the ballot! As billionaires and corporations wage war on workers across the country,
After a year of tough bargaining, countless rallies and pickets across the state, two effective strikes, and our readiness to take a five-day ULP strike at the start of spring
Roughly 12,000 administrative support workers at the University of California joined with the Teamsters in the year 2010, thus forming what is now Teamsters Local 2010. Just past on our 10-year anniversary as Teamsters, we have many victories under our collective belt. We’ve won strong contracts with significant guaranteed raises and benefits, defended hundreds of workers jobs and rights at work, won thousands upon thousands of dollars in back pay and bonuses for members denied the pay or work they deserved, and aggressively protected our right to engage together in our Union and fight for our rights at work!

Teamsters Local 2010 represents more than 1,100 Skilled Trades workers at California State University. We are electricians, elevator mechanics, plumbers, carpenters, locksmiths, facilities workers and other trades workers who keep the school safe and running smoothly for staff and students. The Skilled Trades Division elects its own Board of Directors and has dedicated Union Representatives led by the Skilled Trades Director.

Our Union has obtained an agreement from the CSU to reinstate Compensatory Time Off (CTO) at all CSU
As Teamsters, we utilize all of the tools at our disposal to improve our pay, benefits and rights on the job: fighting for stronger collective bargaining agreements, teaming up with our sisters and brothers in other Unions, and through passing legislation that benefits workers or addresses issues workers are unable to solve through our Union contract. Because Teamsters member dues are spent mostly on member representation, our legislative footprint is funded through donations to Democrat Republican Independent Voter Education (DRIVE).
DRIVE uses the money it receives for political purposes – including making contributions to and expenditures on behalf of candidates for federal, state, and local offices – and addressing political issues of importance to working families.
When we partner with a California lawmaker on a bill that would enact beneficial changes for workers and working families – it’s DRIVE that pays for those efforts.
All members are encouraged to contribute $2 per week to DRIVE to enable the Teamsters to fight for our rights as workers at the federal, state and local level. To sign up for a paycheck deduction to DRIVE, contact your Union Representative.
“Now is the time for us to take a stand against billionaires and corporations who want to take away our rights. By standing together in our Union, we can push back these attacks and better the lives of all workers.”
“We are united in our fight and commit to standing with our fellow workers to strengthen the labor movement and reinforce our organizing efforts so that more Americans can have a seat at the table and a fair shot at the American Dream.”
