After 10 months of intense negotiation with the UC, CX Teamsters have won our strongest-ever Tentative Agreement! Our new agreement delivers powerful wins for CX members, including an average 37% compounded raise over five years, ratification and longevity lump sums, an additional paid personal day per year, and more. This agreement locks in historic wage increases for Teamsters workers while also protecting members from spiking healthcare premiums and parking costs. Our CX Bargaining Team is proud to UNANIMOUSLY recommend a YES vote on this agreement!

- A $25 per hour minimum wage for all CX workers, retroactive to April 1, 2026!
- All wage and step lump sums will now be pension eligible for workers at or above their top step!
LBNL employees will receive a 31.3% raise over five years, plus a $2,000 ratification lump sum bonus. Public Safety Dispatchers will receive the negotiated annual raises—step increases will continue by anniversary date per the existing side agreement.
Under this agreement, our Union made big strides in maintaining caps on increases as well as securing our first-ever healthcare subsidies for employees and their families! With these subsidies, costs will be lowered for Pay Band 3 employees on Kaiser and Blue & Gold plans. See our new subsidies here:

Our contract continues to cap increases in Kaiser and Blue & Gold healthcare costs for workers in Pay Bands 1 and 2 at $25 per year. For some coverage levels, our new cost maximums are even stronger! Read more details on our caps and subsidies in our Contract Summary.
- An additional personal holiday for all employees.
- Promoted employees are guaranteed a two-step raise on promotion.
- Shift differential rates increased for campus employees and expanded to all titles statewide who work an established shift.
- $1,000 longevity lump sum for career employees who have or reach 20 years of full-time University service during the term of the agreement.
- Maintained annual parking rate caps based on work location.

- Three additional days of bereavement leave per year.
- Shift bidding will now be based on seniority.
- Maintained protections on hybrid work, equity adjustments, and contracting out!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
All CX Bargaining Unit employees on payroll status as of July 1, 2026, and on the date of payout, regardless of probationary status or career status, will receive across-the-board wage increases. Non-probationary career employees will also receive step increases, not tied to merit or performance. Eligible employees in recently accreted titles without a negotiated step scale will receive a 2% proxy increase in lieu of the step increase. Wage increases are guaranteed for everyone including those who are at the top of their range (“stepped-out”), who will receive a pension-eligible lump sum for the dollar difference between the top two steps of their range. Non-probationary employees whose pay exceeds the pay range (“red-circled”) after the range adjustment will receive a non-base building lump sum payment equal to the value of the range adjustment.
The Tentative Agreement requires UC to implement our first guaranteed 5% raise and step increase (average 2.2%), the ratification signing bonus, and the longevity lump sum bonus within 60 days of the notice of ratification scheduled for July 2, 2026. UC plans to pay these amounts by September 10, 2026 for bi-weekly employees and September 1, 2026, for monthly employees.
37% is the total average value of our raises over five years, including both across-the-board and step raises plus the compounded value of those increases each year. Just adding our raises together doesn’t accurately reflect how those raises will compound to create maximum value for CX Teamsters! Additionally, in the past the UC has announced our Tentative Agreements with only the value of our across-the-board raises (which would be approximately 25% over five years), without including our guaranteed annual step raises. We strongly disagree with that math—step raises would not be annual or guaranteed without the hard work of our Union! 37% is the most accurate number to describe the raises we’ll see in our paychecks over the next five years.
To receive the ratification bonus, you must be a non-probationary, career CX Bargaining Unit employee (except at LBNL, see the end of this section) on payroll status on the date of contract ratification and on the date of payout, which is scheduled for August 28, 2026. Part-time career employees will receive a pro-rated bonus amount based on their appointment percentage or average hours worked in the two-month cycle prior to ratification, whichever is greater. The LBNL ratification signing bonus will be $2,000.
Career employees who reach 20 years of full-time University service after July 2025 will receive a one-time longevity lump sum payment of $1,000 in 2026. For each subsequent year of the agreement (2027, 2028, 2029, 2030), employees who reach 20 years of full-time service will also receive a one-time longevity lump sum payment of $1,000. Longevity lump sum payments will be considered retirement eligible earnings.
Only current Teamsters members can vote on this agreement. If you have not signed up to be a Teamsters Local 2010 member, membership applications are available online or by contacting your Union Representative if you wish to vote on this very important agreement.
In order to take effect, the agreement must be ratified by the members of the Teamsters 2010 CX Unit. Our Bargaining Team has unanimously recommended that all members vote “YES” on the agreement. The election process is being conducted electronically using Election Buddy and is a safe and secure way to quickly cast your ballot. Please add invitations@mail.electionbuddy.com to your contact list to ensure proper delivery of your ballot. You must be a CX Teamster member to vote on this agreement. You may vote only once.
If you have not received your electronic ballot by June 26, 2026, please contact your Union Representative.
Voting “no” means that you reject the terms and conditions in the agreement. This will authorize strike actions against the University and trigger certain steps the Union can take provided for under the Higher Education Employer-Employee Relations Act (HEERA) including impasse, mediation, and fact-finding.
