Why We Organize

Organizing is simply working toward having your own Union representation and collective bargaining to win guaranteed wage increases, job protections, respectful treatment, and secure benefits. By voting to become Teamsters, workers can better advocate for themselves on key issues including compensation, working out of classification, overwork, increased pension obligations, bullying, rights in our workplaces, and more.

By organizing with Teamsters Local 2010, workers join a powerful union of 23,000 existing Teamsters who will support your contract fights as you will support theirs.

Once a group of workers decides to pursue joining together in the Teamsters, an Organizing Committee will be formed with members from the worksite being organized and members and staff of the Teamsters. This helps workers get closer to having a seat at the table to negotiate working conditions directly with the employer.

With the help of Teamsters Local 2010, you will hold virtual and in-person meetings, conduct surveys, talk to co-workers, strategize actions, and provide additional resources and information on your workplace rights.

With wages falling behind, workloads increasing, sky-high inflation, increasing housing costs, and less staff to do the work, there is no more to be squeezed out of unrepresented staff!

Let’s come together, stay informed, and elevate our voice!
