This was an historic moment for Teamsters Skilled Trades at UCSD to have 14 Teamster members running for 6 Bargaining Team Positions. It shows an incredible amount of Teamster power at UCSD with a large pool of developing union leaders ready to move the Teamsters to the next level in contract negotiations and beyond. NEXT STEPS:
- Teamsters Skilled Trades will be receiving an Email Survey in the next few days. This is every Teamster members opportunity to let the new bargaining team know your priorities, issues, and concerns to address during contract bargaining.
- The new bargaining team will be meeting together (caucusing) from June 23rd to June 27th. The bargaining team will be reviewing your surveys and preparing initial bargaining proposals to submit to UCSD management on or about July 1, 2025.
- UCSD management will release their initial bargaining proposal on or about July 15, 2025.
- The Teamsters and UCSD management agree to commence bargaining for the successor agreement on or about August 1, 2025.
- The new skilled trades bargaining team will attend a Teamsters International “Bargaining Team Training” at the Teamsters 2010 union office (Oakland, CA) on August 11th to August 14th.
