The Fact Finder’s report is out and the findings are clear: CSU can afford to pay our July 2025 raises and salary steps!
The Fact Finder, appointed by the Public Employment Relations Board (PERB) to investigate the impasse between our Union and CSU, found that CSU has the money to fulfill our contract and recommended that our raises and salary steps be paid retroactive to January 1, 2026.
While we agree that CSU has the cash to pay our raises, and always has, Secretary-Treasurer Jason Rabinowitz dissented to one point of the Fact Finder’s report: we contend that CSU has the resources to pay retroactive to July 1, 2025, not January of this year. July 1, 2025 is the date agreed to in our Union contract, which CSU must uphold!
“Given the Factfinder’s correct determination that the University can afford to implement the increases, and that all of the statutory factfinding criteria support it, the University must implement the contractual promise to implement the 2025/26 wage increases effective July 1, 2025,” Jason said in his official concurrence and dissent.
The Fact Finder’s report now goes to the CSU Board of Trustees for review. The report’s recommendations are not binding for the CSU or our Union, but is intended to assist us in reaching an agreement. We will return to the bargaining table next week, March 23-24, to continue negotiations for a fair contract!
