Overwhelming Majority of Teamsters Say YES to CSU Strike Authorization!

With an overwhelming 94% voting yes, Skilled Trades Teamsters at CSU have authorized a strike in protest of the University’s bad faith bargaining and unfair labor practices.

With our member-approved strike authorization in hand, our Teamsters Bargaining Team may now call a strike if they feel we must withhold our work in order to show CSU we’re serious! A strike is our last resort, but members have spoken loud and clear: We are fed up with CSU’s unfair practices and mistreatment of workers, and we are ready to do whatever it takes to win fair treatment!

“This overwhelming vote makes it clear that Teamsters members are fed up with CSU’s unfair treatment, and we're not afraid to take strike action if the CSU continues to violate our rights, commit unfair practices, disrespect our work and refuse to bargain in good faith for the fair contract we deserve!”

Our Bargaining Team begins mediation with CSU on Oct. 31, and we demand that the University engage the mediation process in good faith.  Teamsters Skilled Trades workers will be out in force to protest at the November Trustees meeting. Our Bargaining Team will keep members posted when and if CSU’s unfair conduct makes it necessary to take strike action.

Our power to win a fair contract comes from our unity as workers. Stay updated on the latest news from our Bargaining Team by checking Union emails, our website, and our social media accounts.
