Our Union continues to be one of the fastest-growing locals in the International Teamsters Union! In just the past 12 months, 5,000 previously unrepresented workers at the University of California have joined our Union, winning all the benefits and protections of our amazing CX Unit contract!
Our new sisters and brothers joined our Union following a series of petitions made to the state Public Employment Relations Board successfully arguing that the work of these unrepresented employees was wrongfully removed from our Teamsters CX Unit in years past. Now workers are back where they belong—Union-represented and ready to bargain for better wages, benefits, and dignity in the workplace!
The workers who have joined Local 2010 since last June are:
- 1,200+ workers in the Administrative Officer 3 & 4, Facilities Management Specialist 4, and Administrator/Senior Administrator titles at Lawrence Berkeley Lab
- 1,800+ workers in the Financial Analyst 3 & 4, Patient Navigator, Non-Clinical 3 & 4, Financial Services Analysts 3 & 4, and Health Professions Education Specialist 3 & 4 titles
- 200+ workers in the Payroll Analyst 1-4 titles
- 850+ workers in the Academic HR Analyst 1-4, HR Assistant 2 & 3 and HR Generalist 1-4 titles
- 100+ Patient Billing and Collections Representative 3 & 4 workers
900+ Events Specialists 1-4 and Procurement Analysts 1-5 workers

“We are thrilled to welcome 5,000 new UC workers to our fast-growing Union. We are proud of all we have achieved building the size and strength of Local 2010. Together, we have built the member power that has won strong contracts and unprecedented raises for our members and their families!”Jason Rabinowitz
Secretary-Treasurer, Teamsters Local 2010
“I’m happy that our title is now part of the union because it helps ensure pay and raises are applied consistently,” said Jacque Word, an Administrative Officer 4 at UC San Francisco. “Having guaranteed annual increases provides reassurance that our work will continue to be recognized year after year.”
Upon joining our Union, new title groups each assemble a bargaining team to begin the process of negotiating salary ranges, step placement and other benefits. New titles also benefit from our recently negotiated CX unit successor contract, which locked in a 37% compounded average raise over five years for all non-probationary employees.
That’s the Teamsters difference!
