Our UCSD Teamsters Skilled Trades Bargaining Team was elected on June 12, 2025.
Bargaining Surveys were collected electronically from Teamsters members from June 16 through June 20.
Our newly elected bargaining team met to caucus for five days from June 23 to June 27 to review the collected member bargaining surveys, review current contract language, and draft proposals.
Our Teamsters Bargaining Team submitted a list of initial bargaining proposals to management on June 27. These are the contract articles the Teamsters wish to open during bargaining. The Higher Education Employer–Employee Relations Act, which governs collective bargaining of higher education employers in the state of California, requires that the university as the employer provide notice to the public before it begins negotiations with an exclusive representative.
Two public meetings were hosted online by UCSD on July 23, 2025, and July 25, 2025.
Our UCSD Teamsters Skilled Trades Bargaining Team will receive four days of Teamsters International Public Sector Bargaining Training on Aug. 11 to Aug. 14 in Oakland.
UCSD Management and our Teamsters Bargaining Team will meet for the first time on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2025. The purpose of this meeting is for our bargaining team to meet the management bargaining team. We will also be scheduling bargaining dates for the next few months. No contract bargaining proposals will be exchanged at this meeting.
