CSU Teamsters turn up the heat at this week’s Trustees meeting!

This Tuesday, March 10, CSU Teamsters turned out at the Trustees meeting in Long Beach to continue our fight for true accountability at the CSU. Together with CFA, APC, and dedicated CSU students, we rallied before the meeting—including a speech by CSU Fullerton Teamster and Bargaining Team member Steve Phillips and a march led by the Local 2010 chapter of the Teamster Thunder motorcycle social club! We demanded fair, pensionable raises for workers who continue to fall further and further behind the cost of living.

After our members and Secretary-Treasurer Jason Rabinowitz testified about how CSU’s broken promises have hurt workers, Chancellor Garcia said that she “deeply respects our work” and spoke with confidence about the good-faith agreement she expects to make with workers. We think that if Millionaire Millie wants a good-faith agreement, she better start bargaining in good faith!

The power of our strike and our incredible solidarity has pressured the CSU into making more and more comments about their hopes for a resolution, but we want more than talk. We expect CSU to follow through on the promises they have made to legislators, the Trustees, and, most importantly, to workers: It’s time for the CSU to PAY UP!

“CSU stands alone in the California public sector in its mistreatment of workers and failing to provide raises to workers, despite receiving full funding from the state and bragging about its $8 billion in reserves. We return to the bargaining table later this month with the big increases that CSU received in the governor’s proposed budget. We demand that CSU reverse course, honor its commitment to workers, and bargain in good faith with the Teamsters Union for the fair raises that our members deserve!”

Secretary-Treasurer

Our privacy is paramount!

The CSU has settled the lawsuit Local 2010 and our fellow CSU Unions brought against the university after the CSU violated the privacy rights of our members by providing workers’ personal information to the federal government!

Together with CFA and UAW Local 4123, we filed the lawsuit in October 2025 after learning that CSU had shared workers’ personal information with the government—without notifying workers or their Unions! Now CSU has agreed that in response to any future request they will notify both workers and Unions, allowing us to oppose any illegitimate disclosures of our members’ personal information.

This is a big win for CSU Teamsters, affirming our right to privacy and the CSU’s obligation to protect workers. When we fight, we win!
