On Feb. 4-5, our UCSB Skilled Trades Bargaining Team returned to the table for further talks with management toward our new agreement. Our union team was well-prepared and presented five articles, while the university gave us four of their own. While we are pleased with positive movement on the Overtime language, we haven’t been able to secure any Tentative Agreements during this round of discussions.
There are a total of 35 outstanding articles that have not been addressed, including seemingly simple language changes. With less than eight weeks to go before our contract expires, it is alarming that management still has so many open articles waiting for their response.
The teams meet again on Feb. 26 – 27.
