We Stood Up for Public Service Workers!
More than 300+ people stood up and showed out at our Public Services Division Rally. Thank you to everyone who joined us at UC San Diego with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters’ Public Services Division and Teamsters Local 2010! We had gathered two weeks ago at Library Walk and marched together for Public Service Workers!

Public service workers are the backbone of our communities—keeping campuses, hospitals, and cities running every day. Yet UCSD continues to push layoffs, ignoring the impact on dedicated employees and the broader community. On top of that, federal attacks on public workers threaten our jobs, our freedoms, and our right to organize. Teamsters from our Public Services Division from across North America rallied at UCSD to not only fight for UCSD workers but for Public Service workers worldwide.
We rallied to demand:
- An end to layoffs at UCSD
- Reinstatement of workers who’ve already been let go
- Fair contracts for UCSD workers
- Protection of our rights to picket, rally, and strike
We’ve had speakers like Teamsters Joint Council 7 President Peter Finn, California Federation of Labor President Lorena Gonzalez, UCSD Skilled Trades Leader Herman Ricks, Teamsters Local 237 President Gregory Floyd, Teamsters Local 932 Secretary-Treasurer/Principal Officer Randy Korgan, and our very own Teamsters 2010 Secretary-Treasurer/Principal Officer Jason Rabinowitz. With the horizon of our historic lawsuit against the UC, we are standing ten toes down for our people. Let’s keep the momentum going together because we are Teamsters strong!
