Our Teamsters Local 2010 Unit 6 Bargaining Team is asking all members to vote over the next few weeks to authorize a strike at California State University locations around the state in protest of the University’s numerous unfair labor practices (ULPs) and violations of state law, and refusal to pay contractually promised raises in July 2025.
We fought long and hard to win our current contract that restored step increases after the 28 years that they were denied by CSU. Now CSU, in an unprecedented display of greed, arrogance and hypocrisy, has used the state budget and dishonest legal maneuvering to re-open our contract and renege on contractually promised raises and step increases. CSU is trying to rip off workers even while pocketing hundreds of millions of dollars in zero interest loans from the state, and while approving double-digit raises to already overpaid executives. The University has bargained in bad faith and committed numerous violations of labor law in its treatment of Teamsters workers.
This vote is a critical demonstration of our unity and solidarity in the face of the CSU’s continual refusal to bargain in good faith for the fair contract we deserve. CSU leaders must know that we’re prepared to go all the way to the strike lines for fair pay and good jobs!
Strike authorization votes will be held in-person at all Teamsters-represented CSU campuses, allowing every member a chance to vote. Only members are able to vote, but non-members may sign up to be members at all vote locations on the day of voting. If you are on leave or otherwise unable to make it to your campus meeting, contact your Union Representative in order to receive a link to vote online.
The list of campus vote times and locations will be kept up to date if any votes must be rescheduled. Please stay tuned to our website for any updates.
