We are disappointed to share the news that the UC has unilaterally decided to delay the implementation of our 2026 raises by several weeks, in violation of our Union contract. Raises for biweekly employees are now expected to be included in paychecks by Oct. 21, 2026, and for monthly employees by Oct. 30, 2026. Our raises remain effective from July 1, 2026 and backpay will be paid to all workers. According to the UC, most eligible CX workers will receive their ratification lump sum payment by Aug. 31, 2026. LBNL workers will receive their lump sum on Aug. 26 for biweekly payees and Sept. 1 for monthly payees.
Our Union is filing a grievance against the UC to hold them accountable for this delay. Our contract clearly stipulates that raises would need to be paid within 60 days of contract ratification, approximately early September. The UC claims that a small issue affecting 450 CX workers has necessitated that they delay raises for 22,000 CX workers statewide for six to eight weeks—we strongly disagree.
