Our K4 Teamsters Bargaining Team met with UCLA for our latest bargaining session on Monday, April 6 and Tuesday, April 7. Our team expected a response to our latest economic proposal from UCLA, but management once again failed to deliver.
There was extensive discussion about improving our Promotion/Transfer (Article 11 and Appendix N) contract language to promote more internal hires within UCLA Skilled Trades. Management raised some legal concerns with the approach but acknowledged our team’s concerns. Our team also discussed improving our members rights to support other labor actions, including work stoppages (Article 42).
Secretary-Treasurer Jason Rabinowitz will join us for a membership meeting next Tuesday, April 21, to provide an update on negotiations, including on the bargaining sessions happening that day. Please join to get the latest information!
