Update for Teamsters Skilled Trades Bargaining on Thursday, September 10, and Friday, September 11.
(Next Bargaining Team negotiations will be held Thursday, September 24 and Friday, September 25, Wednesday, September 30, Thursday, October 1 and Friday, October 2)
Special Note: Package Proposals (sometimes called Supposals, only used to facilitate a non-binding negotiation discussion) are often exchanged near the conclusion of collective bargaining because each party has a clearer understanding of the other’s priorities. This enables the union and employer to bundle wages, benefits, working conditions, and other issues into a comprehensive settlement that reflects compromise, resolves outstanding concerns, and increases the likelihood of reaching a ratifiable agreement. This form of exchanging package proposals also adds a layer of protection in bargaining for Teamsters so that key priorities can be maintained and not be diminished by single contract Article negotiations near the end of bargaining.
