Our annual across-the-board raise, guaranteed by our Teamsters contract, takes effect in July! This raise will be effective July 1 for monthly workers and July 6 for biweekly workers. Monthly workers will first see the raise on their August 1 paychecks and biweekly workers will see the raise on their July 30 paycheck.
All CX workers will receive a 3% across-the-board raise (or more, if the UC announces a raise higher than 3% for unrepresented staff, thanks to the “me too” language in our Teamsters contract!), plus one salary step for non-probationary career employees, for a total average raise of 5.2%! That means we’ve won a 26.7% compounded raise in four years thanks to our current CX Teamsters contract, and an 85.1% compounded raise since CX workers joined the Teamsters in 2010!
Non-probationary, career employees who are topped out of their salary range will receive a non-base-building lump sum equivalent to the difference between the top two steps of their salary range. Employees are considered non-probationary if they pass probation by the effective date of our raises. Plus, employees who have reached 20 years of University service between July 1, 2024, and July 1, 2025, will receive a $1,000 lump sum longevity payment in the same pay period as the raises!

“We achieved these historic raises and the strongest contract in our history by standing together as Teamsters and building Local 2010 into a powerhouse for workers’ rights. Now that we are entering bargaining for our next contract, let’s keep standing united to protect our raises, medical benefits and rights at work – and to build on what we have accomplished!”
Jason Rabinowitz
Teamsters Local 2010 Secretary-Treasurer
Guaranteeing our Teamsters Raises!
The fight to make sure every UC Teamster is fairly compensated doesn’t end when our contract is ratified. Every year our Union lobbies California legislators and the Governor’s Office to demand that California higher education, and our work as UC employees, receives the funding necessary to support the largest public higher education system in the country. This year, when the UC and CSU were threatened with debilitating 8% cuts in the Governor’s proposed budget plan, our Union fought back! Teamsters travelled to Sacramento, spoke with legislators, and won a 0% cut to the UC and CSU in the legislature’s June 15 budget bill!
This kind of lobbying is only one of the ways in which our Union fights for workers in Sacramento and Washington D.C. every day. Help us win even more benefits and protections for Union workers by making a contribution to DRIVE (Democrat, Republican, Independent Voter Education), the Teamsters political action fund!
Raises for CX Dispatchers
Under the side letter signed with the UC on May 6, 2019, CX Unit Dispatchers hired after May 6, 2019, will receive their annual step increase on the anniversary date of their hire if they receive a satisfactory performance evaluation. Dispatchers who have already reached the top step of their salary range will receive a non-base-building lump sum equivalent to the difference between the top two steps of their salary range, on the same date as other CX Teamsters
Please feel free to contact your Union Representative with any questions or concerns.
