We won’t let CSU get away with its underhanded tactics—at the bargaining table or at the Trustees meeting.
Earlier this month, our Teamsters legal team filed two new Unfair Labor Practice (ULP) charges against the CSU for their attempts to undermine the bargaining process and our Union rights. Our first ULP asks the Public Employment Relations Board (PERB) to sanction the CSU for the latest example of their bad-faith bargaining: refusing to bargain over our retroactive wage increases.
Our Teamsters Bargaining Team has proposed that all 2026 wage increases be retroactive to July 1, 2026, the day after our prior contract expired on July 30. This is consistent with all prior contracts we’ve bargaining with the CSU, and yet the CSU has offered a laundry list of ridiculous excuses as to why retroactive raises are impossible this year, including that they’d be “harder to calculate.”
This is an obvious lie and an insult to our Bargaining Team and all CSU Teamsters. So is the CSU’s attempts to silence our voices at the Board of Trustees, the subject of our second ULP charge.

“CSU’s union busting activities and dirty tactics at the bargaining table will not deter Teamsters Local 2010 one bit. Our members will continue to stand together and fight for the fair raises and strong contract we deserve!”
Jason Rabinowitz
Secretary-Treasurer, Teamsters Local 2010
At our rally at the Sept. 22 Board of Trustees meeting, CSU staff repeatedly interfered with our rights as Union members to take action in a contract dispute. Our members were told to move by CSU security, who falsely claimed that we were blocking entrances to the meeting; they confiscated many of the 11×14 paper signs our members attempted to bring into the Trustees meeting; and emailed our Union staff and members after the rally implying that we’d violated the CSU Board of Trustees Code of Conduct.
None of the CSU’s claims are true. All of the CSU’s actions were in violation of our rights under the Higher Education Employer-Employee Relations Act (HEERA). We will keep CSU Teamsters updated as our ULP charges move through the PERB process.
An injury to one Teamster is an injury to us all. ✊
