Tentative Agreement Reached for Teamsters EA3s!

Thanks to the strong support of our members, our Teamsters Bargaining Team has secured a Tentative Agreement with the University of California for Executive Assistant 3s across the state!

Our Bargaining Team held the line for workers and won improved salary ranges and step placements and increased starting pay by almost 17% on average for EA3s on every campus and medical center. After eight formal bargaining sessions, we are pleased to recommend a YES vote on this agreement!

SUMMARY OF TENTATIVE AGREEMENT:

  • Initial pay step placement (closest to but not less than your current rate of pay) including retroactive lump sum payments to July 1, 2024 (monthly) and July 7, 2024 (biweekly).
  • Maintenance of current FLSA designation for overtime exempt employees
  • Conversion from contract to career or limited appointments for contract employees
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) conversion to sick and vacation leave

Workers in these titles will also receive the 3% across-the-board raise, plus a 1-step increase for non-probationary employees scheduled for July 1, 2025, as previously negotiated by the Teamsters (approximately 5%). Should unrepresented employees get more than a 3% across-the-board raise, EA3s will get the increased amount plus the 1-step increase for non-probationary employees.
