UC Davis K3 Teamsters Bargaining Update, September 4, 2026

Our K3 Teamsters Bargaining Team met again with the University on Sep. 3 and submitted our proposals on Article 22 – Overtime, Article 32 – Recognition (with Side Letter), Article 44 – University Benefits, Article 46 – Wages, and Appendix G – Meal Period Waiver and Deferral Form. Our team saw some movement on wages from UC Davis, who dropped their proposal that raises be contingent on performance evaluation. However, UC Davis’ proposed across-the-board raises remain the same as on their previous proposal: unacceptably low. Our unit’s solidarity and actions have pushed the University in the right direction but there’s still work to do. Our Bargaining Team pushed back on UC Davis’ proposal with our counter offer, which included the elimination of all steps and higher raises to meet workers’ needs.

Our elected Bargaining Team reviewed the other articles that were passed by the University and noted some changes that we will counter with in our next session. Our next bargaining date is Sep. 24, when we expect another wage proposal from the University. Our team appreciates every K3 Teamster who has participated in our UC Runs on Skilled Trades sticker campaign. The Bargaining Team feels supported in our fight by the members who have sent in their pictures with their stickers on. Please continue send in pictures! We hope to strike a deal within the next couple of months but if we don’t, we need to continue to escalate our workplace actions.

“We are working hard at the bargaining table every time we meet with UC Davis. Our goal is to ensure that we are compensated fairly as Skilled Trades men and women by UC Davis. We work hard for our families and loved ones and being able to provide for them by earning a fair wage is one of our main goals in bargaining. We as a team make UC work and we bring that to the table day in and day out. Now it’s time for UC to show up.”
