(1) Bargaining Meeting Tuesday, June 23:
Teamsters and/or Management proposed the following Articles on Tuesday, June 23:
- Article 8 – Hours of Work
- Article 12 – Holidays
- APPENDIX A Side Letter Agreement – K6-Unit Skilled Trades Trade-Up Apprenticeship Program

(3) Articles Proposed between Teamsters and UCSD
Article 8 Hours of Work (Proposed by Teamsters)
Teamsters agreed to extend the Notice of Work Schedule Change to 21-days. Current contract language is 10-days’ notice. This is eleven days of additional notice of work schedule change benefit for Teamsters. Teamsters ordinally proposed 12-hours’ “time off between shifts”. Management agrees with the union on this provision. Teamsters and management have been exchanging proposals to ensure that all K6-Unit employees benefit from the 12-hours “time off between shifts”. Both parties are close to an agreement.
Article 12 – Holidays (Proposed by Teamsters)
Teamsters are still proposing that K6-Unit Teamsters receive Holiday Pay for all paid leaves. Currently K6-Unit employees cannot receive holiday pay if sick-leave is used the day before a holiday. Teamsters proposed to add that all K6-Unit Teamsters receive one additional personal holiday per year.
APPENDIX A Side Letter Agreement – (UCSD “Trade-Up Apprenticeship Program”) (Proposed by UCSD)
UCSD proposed to expand the benefit of Teamsters last proposal on the UCSD “Trade-Up Apprenticeship Program”. Current contract language only has Campus Facilities Management as approved for the apprenticeship program. UCSD has proposed that all departments at UCSD-Campus and UCSD-Health are approved to utilize the UCSD “Trade-Up Apprenticeship Program”.
(4) SPECIAL NOTE: All (TA) Tentative Agreements made between UCSD Management, and your Bargaining Team must be ratified by a majority vote of Teamsters K6-Unit Skilled Trades members during the Ratification Vote at the conclusion of bargaining.
