On May 12, our UC Davis Skilled Trades Teamsters Bargaining Team met with UC Davis for our first session of negotiations for our K3 successor contract. Our K3 contract expires on September 30 of this year, with the final raise of the current contract going into effect in July, and our team is ready to fight for a powerful new contract for UC Davis Teamsters.

In our first session, we discussed ground rules for negotiations and set future dates to meet. We will be meeting with UC Davis’ bargaining team two to three times a month from now through September in hopes of reaching a deal before our contract expires.
Teamsters and UC Davis agreed to maintain the current contract language on the following articles:
- Article 3 – Bargaining Unit Work
- Article 7- Death Payments
- Article 8 – Discipline and Dismissal
- Article 15 – Labor Management Relations
- Article 18 – Management Rights
- Article 19 – Medical Separation
- Article 33 – Resignation and Job Abandonment
- Article 34 – Respectful and Fair Treatment
- Article 35 – Severability
- Article 39 – Training and Development
- Article 40 – Travel Reimbursement
- Article 41 – Uniforms, Tools, and Equipment
- Article 45 – Vacation
- Article 47 – Waiver
- Appendix C – Grievance Form
We also agreed to eliminate Appendix B – PTO Conversion for Health, as that language no longer applies for current employees, and add title code 8173 – Lead Physical Plant Mechanic to the contract.
Finally, our Team presented our proposal on Article 22 – Overtime.
