Hello UCSD Skilled Trades Teamsters,
A short recap and update on skilled trades bargaining:
1 UCSD Management and the Teamsters Bargaining Team met for the first time on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. The purpose of this meeting was for your bargaining team to meet the management bargaining team. We also scheduled bargaining dates for the rest of 2025. No contract bargaining proposal were exchanged at this meeting. The bargaining dates that were agreed to for 2025 are September 25th – 26th, October 23rd – 24th, November 13th – 14th, and December 16th.
2 Bargaining Meeting September 25th – 26th Update:
The Teamsters passed proposals on Article 6 Probationary Period, , Article 10 Performance Evaluations, Article 12 Holidays, Article 24 Joint Health and Safety Committee, and Article 36 Personnel Files.
UCSD Management passed the following proposals on Article 1 Recognition, Article 2 Out of Classification Assignment/Classification Review, Article 7 Positions and Appointments, Article 18 Layoff and Reduction in Time, Article 23 Health and Safety and Article 37 Training and Development.
3 Teamsters and UCSD Management reached a (TA) Tentative Agreement on 3 of the passed Articles:
Article 1 Recognition, The classifications of Irrigation Mechanic Lead and Apprentice Irrigation Mechanic were added to the contract working titles.
Article 23 Health and Safety, (CCL) Current Contract Language. There was no change to this Article.
Article 36 Personnel Files, Paragraph E Fees was taken out of the contract. Teamsters will no longer have to pay fees when requesting a copy of their personnel file.
SPECIAL NOTE: All (TA) Tentative Agreements made between UCSD Management, and your Bargaining Team must be ratified by a majority vote of Teamsters K6-Unit Skilled Trades members during the Ratification Vote at the conclusion of bargaining.
