The CSU is suffering under Chancellor Garcia’s leadership.
Under Chancellor Garcia, CSU has become the worst employer in the California public sector. CSU—virtually alone among California public employers—failed to provide raises to workers in 2025, including the raises guaranteed to Local 2010 Teamsters under our collective bargaining agreement. CSU has refused to bargain regarding future raises, they’ve dishonestly used state budget uncertainty as an excuse to shirk their obligations under the law, and their bargaining team, acting under Chancellor Garcia’s administration, has hurled verbal abuse at our member-elected Teamsters bargaining team.
Chancellor Garcia’s own public commitments are immediately undermined by her own Bargaining Team. Her administration engages in bad faith negotiations, actively disrespects workers, and has proposed severe contract takeaways. The Chancellor has demonstrated a profound and unacceptable failure of leadership, integrity, and commitment to the welfare of her employees. The staff and faculty have no choice but to declare NO CONFIDENCE in Chancellor Garcia and her leadership.
